Juba, Thursday (April 25, 2024) – H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit today met with General Lazaro Sumbeiywo, the Head of Mediation of the South Sudan Peace Talks in Nairobi, to discuss the peace initiative focused on achieving enduring peace with the Holdout Groups.
After the meeting, the Presidential Special Envoy, Albino Mathom, told the media of the President's strong commitment to welcome his brothers back and engage in constructive dialogue, hence reaching a comprehensive peace deal and promoting reconciliation among all stakeholders.
The forthcoming peace effort, scheduled to take place in Nairobi soon, represents a revitalized commitment to nonviolent means of resolution.
