ANGOLA: "WE ARE ALL EQUAL” CAMPAIGN

The President urges African First Ladies to unite their efforts for world peace.

Angolan Head of State João Lourenço has called on African First Ladies to join their voices with millions of women around the world to demand an urgent end to conflicts in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, Ukraine and Palestine.

João Lourenço, who spoke this Friday, August 9 in Luanda, during the opening of the conference "Education for gender equality and the fight against child-youth violence", highlighted the importance of defending the lives and dignity of women and children, who are the main "victims of these wars".

This event, promoted by the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OPDAD), brought together First Ladies from various countries on the continent and marked the launch of the “We are all equal” campaign.

In his speech, the statesman said that the construction of societies where there is in fact equality lacks an active and conscious participation of leaders, politicians, social, cultural agents and citizens in general.
