Port-au-Prince, Saturday July 27, 2024
The Communications Office of the Presidency informs the population in general as well as the written, spoken, television and online press in particular that the President of the Presidential Transitional Council, Mr. Edgard Leblanc Fils, took the plane this Saturday, July 27 2024 to travel to Grenada to participate in the 47th Ordinary Meeting of Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), which will be held from July 28 to 30.
This meeting will mark the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Grand Anse Declaration, which launched CARICOM's transition to a single market and economy. Signed during the 10th Conference of CARICOM Heads of Government on July 12, 1979, this declaration made Haiti a pillar of this regional organization responsible for defending the founding principles of democracy and the rule of law.
The CARICOM Heads of State and Government Conference also coincides this year with the celebration of 50 years of Grenada’s independence. This meeting of the highest officials of the countries of the region will allow us to reflect on the mechanisms to be put in place to create a regional integration program aimed at facilitating the development of the various member countries of the organization.
