HAITI: Technical opinions on the direction of major CPT projects.

The Presidential Transitional Council organized on Tuesday August 6, 2024 a day of exchanges with the different sectors of national life in order to gather technical opinions on the direction of the major CPT projects.

The President of the Transitional Presidential Council, Edgard Leblanc fils, and the Presidential Advisor, Frinel Joseph, encouraged all sectors present to give their technical opinions on certain points of the agreement, notably the national conference, the constitutional reform and the implementation elections. Jean Robert Charles of CORPUHA, Eugène Pierre Louis of FDSE, the sociologist Jean Vernet Jacques and the former deputy Jerry Tardieu respectively addressed themes linked to the national conference, such as "The causes of the failure of past attempts, the feasibility today, if feasible, the direction to be given", as well as constitutional reform. They proposed the main lines to be defined and identified technical concerns by elaborating, among other things, on the directions to be given: electoral legislation and electoral operations were debated throughout this day of discussions.

The technical opinions from these exchanges were received as a light on the CPT site as part of its mission. Note that the opinions collected during this day of discussions will be submitted to the Presidential Transitional Council with a view to more informed decisions in the interest of the nation.

This activity is part of the implementation of the agreement of April 3, 2024 and the application of article 10 relating to the organization of the Central State Administration of May 17, 2005.
