The Commonwealth Foundation has been bringing talented writers to international audiences through the prize since 2012. The global literary world will be watching next year when we announce the shortlist, regional winners and, finally, the overall winner for 2024.

Success in the prize provides a springboard for literary careers. Kritika Pandey secured agent representation after winning the prize in 2020 and is now working on her debut novel.

Kevin Jared Hosein, the overall winner in 2018, released his first novel for adults earlier this year, to great acclaim.

Mary Rokonadravu, a regional winner in 2015 and 2022, was nominated for the prestigious 2023 Fall Residency, International Writing Program at the University of Iowa.

The prize also offers the opportunity for shortlisted and regional-winning writers to publish their work in online magazines and gain widespread media attention.

Whether you're an experienced storyteller or submitting for the first time, this is your chance to be recognised on a truly international platform.
