Last Chance to Register for #GIJC23!
It's only three weeks until the 2023 Global Investigative Journalism Conference, where 2,000 of the world's investigative and data journalists will convene in Gothenburg, Sweden. If you haven't registered yet, hurry! Ticket sales end this Sunday, Sept 3, at midnight CET. Get your tickets here.
Ahead of the conference, GIJN spoke to GIJC23 keynote speaker Ron Deibert, director of Canada's groundbreaking Citizen Lab, which has exposed major cyber espionage efforts, including the notorious Pegasus spyware. Deibert warns this is just the start: "I fear that things are about to get worse," he tells GIJN.
The good news: Citizen Lab is teaming up with Reporters Without Borders to offer free checks for spyware on mobile phones at the conference. Search for Digital Security Clinic on Sched for more details.
There's more: We now have official GIJC23 merchandise for purchase (only for registered attendees). Want a memento of your conference experience? Click on the "Register for #GIJC23" button on the registration page, scroll down to view the add-ons, and add a mug or a cap, or both, to your cart and checkout before Sept 17. Limited stock available. Pickup will be available at the conference venue. (Sorry, there are no delivery options and no on-site sales.)
